Matthew Jermiason

Matthew Jermiason is a freelance trombone player and low brass doubler based in New York City. He plays tenor trombone, bass trombone, alto trombone, euphonium, and tuba.


Matthew’s musical mission is to create excellent music in any setting and to personally connect with audiences through his music. Matthew values being an adaptable freelancer suited the music landscape of NYC. Colleagues recommend Matthew as a competent musician who has a friendly personality and professional attitude.


Matthew has an M.M. in Trombone Performance from Bowling Green State University, and studied with Brittany Lasch, Garth Simmons, and William Mathis. Matthew also has a B.S.E in Music Education from Minot State University.


Matthew regularly plays with the NYC based groups Broadway Sings, Hank Lane Music & Productions, Metropolitan Players, Swingadelic Big Band, New Amsterdam Opera Company, Kidz Theater Company, and other freelance ventures. Additionally, he subs for other trombone players as often as possible.


Matthew’s interests include connecting with other musicians with board games, walking in Central Park, and drinking coffee.
